My sincere thanks to you for visiting TrumPoetry.com.  These daily rhymes began on March 17, 2017, and concluded on January 20, 2021 with the inauguration of our 46th President, Joseph R. Biden, Jr.  The project may have started out as a joke, but by March 22, 2017, began to take itself a bit more seriously.  This TrumPoetry website was created in mid-March of 2018 to commemorate and document the project’s one-year anniversary.  Our rhyme on March 17, 2018 celebrated/lamented our second anniversary.  Archived poems were uploaded chronologically by month, and a new poem was added every day.

Mostly limericks, along with the occasional sonnet or parody, these rhymes were real-time commentaries and observations offered on the events and governmental administration of that unprecedented four-year period.  Browsing the archives with an awareness of the headlines of the day, you can get a dramatic sense of the psychological whiplash we were subjected to daily, both as a country and as individuals.  The numbers in parentheses served as a countdown of days until the next Presidential Inauguration.  Breaking with established form, the final poem of the series is a line-by-line tribute/response to Allen Ginsberg’s 1956 Beat Masterpiece, HOWL.

Please show your appreciation for this site by voting in the next election.  Preferably for those candidates and issues dedicated to serving the Common Good.

I hope you enjoy your time here.  All the best to you in your life.  Mask up.
